Nicholas Powell B.Sc. (Hons.), Ph.D.
Nick has more than 20 years of senior management experience in the Membrane and Water / Industrial Filtration Markets in both Europe and the USA. Nick has a strong track record of success in business development, he has held various senior management positions in the Water Industry including: Polypore (Membrana), Koch Membrane Systems, U.S. Filter, United Utilities (North West Water) and Imperial Chemical Industries (ICI).
Nick graduated with a B.Sc. with First Class honours from University College London where he also earned a Ph.D. in Chemistry. He was the recipient of the Ramsay Memorial Medal for his research work and published 17 peer reviewed papers.
Nick has extensive international business experience particularly in the USA, Europe, the Far East and Australia.
Nick has completed a variety of consulting projects including providing strategic input into planning the reshaping of an R&D department followed by assisting in the implementation of the plan by writing the job descriptions and profiles. He has also written customized market reports and assessed new technologies prior to forming strategic partnerships. He has also negotiated supply agreements and advised on licensing issues.
Nick has been involved as an expert witness in several litigations including patent cases and commercial cases.
Nick is active in the industry and regularly attends conferences and trade shows to ensure he keeps his finger on the pulse of current developments, trends and technology.
